A metal façade as desired for STP AG

back to Object of the month

After 130 years of company history, the headquarters of SPT AG in Lyss had to be extended. Montana designed the metal façades for the new commercial building - according to the ideas of the clients and architects.

The company Small Precision Tools SPT is considered the world's leading manufacturer of small, high-precision components made of fine ceramics and of tools for the semiconductor industry. Founded in 1890 by the entrepreneur Peter Roth in Lyss near Biel, the company is now run by the fifth generation, with production facilities in China, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and the USA. SPT employs a total of 1000 people, around 100 at its headquarters in Lyss.

Since the administration and production in Lyss required more space, the existing building was extended by a three-storey commercial building under the construction management of Gebert Architekten Biel. The building envelope bears the signature of Montana AG, among others. They supplied the MONTAFORM® Design façade cladding with a profile specially drawn for the building project. The metal façade components in high-quality aluminium with a look titan brushed and partly perforated.

MONTAFORM® Design profiles offer customers the possibility to have ventilated metal façades produced according to their own ideas for new buildings and renovations. One may choose between different metal types, colours, coatings and profile shape. Some shapes defined as standard can be ordered without changing of the shape but could also serve as a basis or inspiration for your own profile.
